PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

Working in the design industry for over twenty years has enabled me to build up an extensive knowledge of print and online design. My BA (Hons) degree focused on visual problem solving and creative thinking and has been invaluable preparation for the challenges of a professional designer in a demanding and fast-evolving industry.

Starting my career in the printing industry has given me valuable practical experience of large lithographic print runs as well as digital printing and proofing.

For the last fifteen years I have focussed primarily on online projects, collaborating with web developers to produce fully functioning websites, user interface designs, animated web advertising and video presentations.

I have also had extensive experience coding HTML, CSS and jQuery for both websites and emails and I have worked with web development teams to implement responsive layouts using the Bootstrap css framework.

Recently I have been working on the design and implementation of several major branding projects for global IT companies whilst expanding my leadership, presentation and project management skills.

INTERESTS

I enjoy a challenge inside and out of work and I have successfully completed a marathon and several half marathon runs. I have also played in and helped to organize a local amateur rugby team. A passion for design and creative thinking has encouraged me to visit galleries and exhibitions as often as possible and I also enjoy live music, cinema, theatre and reading in my spare time.
