Key users of the site would include:
Users were busy people so the user journey would need to be as efficient as possible.
From past experience and analytics the client has informed us that most of their users are comfortable with modern technology and browsers and over 80% of users interact with the awards via a pc interface rather than mobile.
Research via customer feedback from the previous site had discovered that Vivid Associates's users have found viewing the work difficult to navigate via the top menu. This was addressed with a single page design scrolling down the page to view the services, portfolio and contact details.
Extensive usability testing was conducted with sample users on key site functions before making the site live.
User personas were supplied were constructed and used to influence the design and functionality of the site. A questionnaire was emailed to customers asking what they would expect to see on a design website. The portfolio of work and services offered were key features for clients as well as an attractive and stylish user interface.
Wireframes were used clarify the site structure and content saving time in the design and development process. The site should adhere to brand guidelines whilst showcasing the award winning designs.
The site was built using a combination of css, html and javascript. Animation was acheived using javascript and video was used for the motion graphic showreel.
The design was well received by clients with some mentioning that they would like to similar designs for their own sites. Frequent client feedback is improving the site UX and design, adapations have been made for ease of use whilst uploading content. Further development work on the portfolio section is in progress.
